Men's Club

MEN'S CLUB OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

Summer is behind us and the kids are back in School. The Men's club helped run the Back to Shul BBQ and it was a great success with new and prospective members mingling with a great turnout from the congregation. Many thanks to the volunteers who served food, set up, and ran the barbeque.

The high holidays are fast approaching and the Men’s Club has several programs to allow us to help the Congregation and congregants have a wonderful season.

Ed Simon has generously offered to organize ushers for the Holidays to help the services run smoothly.  If you will be in town and would like to usher for a shift or two during the Holidays, please contact Ed at E1Simon@aol.com , Mark Deitch at drdeitch@verizon.net or Lou Klimoff at louklimoff@earthlink.net .  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sukkot is also around the corner and the Men’s club will be looking for volunteers to help erect the Synagogue’s Sukkah. We plan to do this on September 28th, the last Sunday in Sept. If you would like to help out please reach out to either Lou Klimoff louklimoff@earthlink.net or Mark Deitch drdeitch@verizon.net and let us know.

If we help build it then they will come!

The Men’s club is also excited to announce a new program this year. For those of you who wish to put up your own Sukkah, we will help you build it.  We are organizing a roaming “Sukkah building crew.” Please consider volunteering to join our crew by contacting Mark at 609-577-5010 or Lou at 609-683-0681, by emailing us at the addresses above.  If you do not own a Sukkah yet, you can order one from www.sukkot.com.   We are scheduling the roving “Sukkah Building Day” for Sunday, October 5th (rain date October 12th). If you need help building your Sukkah or know of anybody who does please contact us.

The Kids Café is off and running again on Sundays.  This continues to be a tremendous success with the kid’s. And adults can take advantage too – there are newspapers, wireless internet access, good coffee and good company.

Finally, The Men’s Club Monday Night Football program will begin after the holidays on Monday nights in the Youth Lounge in The Jewish Center from 8:30pm till approximately 11pm).  The first night will be October 27th – join us!

We wish you a great start to the year ahead! As always, if you have any questions or would like to volunteer for some of our programs please call or contact us.
