The Joan Levin Nursery School at The Jewish CenterThe Joan Levin Nursery School at The Jewish Center enrolls approximately 125 children ages 2 to 5, and offers a comprehensive program ranging from a toddler class to pre-Kindergarten classes with an afternoon enrichment program. Generally, the younger children attend 1, 2, or 3 days per week and the older children, 5 days per week. The curriculum stresses the celebration of Jewish holidays through story, discussion, art, and music. The children also learn to recite basic brachot. The program focuses on the development of basic reading, writing, and math skills. Special events include puppet shows, concerts, and story tellers. Activities complement the program's objectives: to develop and enhance a sense of pride and commitment to Jewish values and ideals. A summer program, Grow and Learn, offers a day camp experience for younger pre-schoolers. For more information, email Gayle Wagner and see the resource page. | ||||||||||
